The matter related to construction activities at the bank of river Ganga, where public toilets are being constructed by the Municipal Corporation, Rishikesh and the entire waste therefrom, is directly flown in river Ganga causing pollution. It was further stated by the applicant that no STP has been constructed and the entire untreated discharge is directly leaving to river Ganga.

Grievance in the application was against encroachment of the forest land in Malsi forest in Bindal Rao in Rajpur, Dehradun. The court directed a report to be furnished by a joint committee of PCCF (HoFF), Uttarakhand, SEIAA, Uttarakhand and the District Magistrate, Dehradun. The report has to be furnished within one month.

The matter related to alleged violation of environmental norms in the construction of Kotila-Gawad-Suraikhet motor road in Almora district, Uttarakhand. Grievance in this application is against unscientific disposal of the stones and muck generated from Tuni Chandni Tunal Motor Road construction work in Chakrata, district Dehradun, in the forest area. According to the applicant, during construction of the road by the Uttarakhand Public Works Department (UPWD), necessary safeguards are not being observed resulting in damage to the environment.
