The matter related to the construction of a proposed road affecting a water source at village Malia Dhadharia, tehsil Salt Khumad, district Almora. The total length of the proposed motor road is 21 km. out of which 2.225 km. motor road is under construction.

Order of the High Court of Uttarakhand (Writ Petition (PIL) No. 93 of 2022) in the matter of Jitender Yadav Vs Union of India & Others.

The matter related to steps taken to clear the solid waste/ non-biodegradable plastic waste in Uttarakhand.

The High Court, July 7, 2022 had directed all the district magistrates in the state to submit status reports on the matter. The court noted that not even one status report has been filed by any of the district magistrates.

Order of the High Court of Uttarakhand (WPPIL No. 168 of 2019) dated 03/08/2022. The matter related to a stone crusher situated at village Bhuvdevpur Patti, Hadukhata, Kotdwar, District Pauri Garhwal falls in the hill area or the plain area in terms of the policy of the state, November 19, 2016.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M/s Himalaya Stone Industry & Others Vs Tejinder Kumar Jolly & Others dated 22/07/2022.

The appellant stone units were established in the year 1985/1987 respectively. "The policy enunciated by the state of Uttarakhand in the year 2020 appears to exempt previously approved/established stone crusher, inter alia, from the duty to comply with the distance parameters which have been provided in the state policy," the SC order said.

The Uttarakhand High Court directed the Nagarpalika, Nainital to survey the stray dogs within the town and to identify and remove only the aggressive dogs within the pack and remove them and place them in dog pound.

A report titled 'Environmental assessment of tourism in the Indian Himalayan region' by the  Govind Ballabh Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment (GBNIHE), Kosi-Katarmal, Almora was submitted to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in compliance with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order.

The study was carried out in relation to a statement made in Hindu newspaper, ‘Tourism has brought economic prosperity to the Himalayan region but the environmental cost has been catastrophic’.

The matter related to saving the naula/water source located at village Malla Dhadharia, tehsil Salt Khumad, district Almora from the proposed construction of a motor road.

Report by way of affidavit on behalf of state of Uttarakhand in compliance of the NGT order, April 7, 2022 in the matter of Bachhidhar & Others Vs State of Uttarakhand. The matter related to the working of three stone crushers situated in Betalghat tehsil, Nainital district, Uttarakhand. The affidavit mentioned that permission to operate has been granted to the stone crushers by the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board till March 2026.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Kartik Sharma Vs State of Uttarakhand dated 18/05/2022.

Grievance in the application is against unregulated drawal of water from Mussoorie lake, having potential for damage to the lake. The violators include Hotel Jaypee Residency, Mussoorie and others.
