Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vikrant Kumar Tongad Vs. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. dated 28/04/2016 regarding installation of rain water harvesting systems in hotels of Delhi. Local Commissioner has filed the report. On inspection it was found that the IBIS Hotel has installed two Rain Water Harvesting Systems and both are similar in design and the said design is the approved design as per the CGWA. The report further shows that the Rain Water Harvesting Systems are in good and clean condition, are satisfactory and are as per the approved design.
While the water dependency of water-scarce nations is well understood, this is not the case for countries in temperate and humid climates, even though various studies have shown that many of such countries strongly rely on the import of water-intensive commodities from elsewhere. In this study we introduce a method to evaluate the sustainability and efficiency of the external water footprint (WF) of a country, with the UK as an example.
