The number of cases and deaths reported in the country during the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise and year-wise for Malaria, Dengue,Chikungunya, Japanese Encephalitis (JE), Kala-azar and Lymphatic Filariasis have been given at Annexure-I to VI respectively. Question raised in Lok Sabha on Power Demand by 2020, 20/07/2017. The details of power plants that are under construction (State-wise) are given at Annex-I. As per the 19th Electric Power Survey (EPS) Report, the projected electrical energy requirement and peak electricity demand (utilities) on all India basis in the year 2019-20 is 1400 BU and 2,00,696 MW, respectively. The Power Supply Position in terms of energy requirement and peak demand during last year (2016-17) and during current year 2017-18 (upto June’17) are furnished at Annex-II.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on ODF Villages, 20/07/2017. The States/UTs - wise number of villages have been declared as Open Defecation Free (ODF) during the last three year including the current financial year is at Annexure-I. The amount spent to make these villages ODF during the said period including Karnataka, State/UT-wise is at Annexure –II.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Households without Toilet Facilities, 20/07/2017. State/UT-wise, percentage of households without toilet facility in rural areas of the country including Jharkhand as on 17.7.2017 is at Annexure-1. SBM(G) is being implemented in districts of Jharkhand including tribal areas.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Fluoride in Drinking Water, 20/07/2017. State-wise number of habitations affected by fluoride, arsenic and other heavy metals as reported by the States into integrated management information system (IMIS) of the Ministry as on 14th July, 2017 is at Annexure-I. Under National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), Up to 67% fund allocated to the states can be utilized for coverage & tackling water quality problems.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Development of Wasteland, 20/07/2017. As per information received from Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, details of estimated area under agricultural / cultivable land in the 13 districts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh comprising the Bundelkhand region as well as details of agricultural / cultivable land in the country during 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 are given in Annexure I.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Decrease in Water Bodies, 20/07/2017. As per the 4th Minor Irrigation Census conducted by the Ministry, there are 5,23,816 water bodies in the rural areas being used for minor irrigation. Of these 4,43,688 water bodies were in use and 80,128 were not in use. Reasons given by states for water bodies not being in use are; encroachments, urbanisation, polluted water, non availability of water due to less and erratic rainfall, siltation etc. State wise details are at Annexure.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Contamination of Ground Water, 20/07/2017. Ground water quality data generated by Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) during various scientific studies and ground water quality monitoring indicates that contamination of ground water in isolated pockets in parts of various States. Contamination is both geo-genic and anthropogenic in nature including due to use of pesticides and fertilizers.
