Eleven States, viz; Karnataka (both for Kharif and Rabi), Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra (both for Kharif and Rabi), Odisha, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh (both for Kharif and Rabi), Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand (rabi) had submitted Memoranda reporting crop loss due to natural calamities like drought, hailstorm, pest attack & cold wave/frost.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Registered and Illegal Mines, 17/11/2016. As per rule 45 of the Mineral Conservation and Development Rules, 1988, it is mandatory for all miners, traders, stockists, exporters and end-users to register with the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) (a subordinate office of the Ministry). The state wise detail of working/Non-working leases registered with IBM in the country is given as Annexure-I.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Hydro Power Projects, 17/11/2016. A total of 197 Hydro Power projects with an aggregate installed capacity of 43112.42 MW (including Pumped Storage Scheme) are presently under operation in the country. The state-wise details of Hydro Electric Stations under operation along with energy generated by each of the hydel power projects is given at Annex-I. In addition, 44 Hydro Electric Projects (above 25 MW) totalling to 13182 MW are under construction in the country. Details are given at Annex-II.

As per section 23C of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) (MMDR) Act, 1957, State Governments have been empowered to make rules for preventing illegal mining, transportation and storage of minerals.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Targets under Drinking Water and Sanitation Schemes, 17/11/2016. The State/UT-wise details of targets set and achievements made under National RuralDrinking Water Programme (NRDWP) during each of the last three years are at Annexure-I. Since Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) is demand driven programme, hence no State/UT-wise targets are fixed. However, State/UT-wise, number of Individual household latrines constructed during last three years is at Annexure-II.

The Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) is a demand driven programme, therefore no State/UTwise targets are fixed but based on Annual Implementation Plans (AIPs) and available funds at GoI. However, State/UT-wise, central share released and expenditure reported during last three years and the current year is at Annexure-1, State/UT-wise, number of individual household latrines constructed during last three years and the current year is at Annexure-2.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Open Defecation Free States, 17/11/2016. Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala have been declared as Open Defecation Free (ODF)

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Open Defecation Free Districts, 17/11/2016. State-wise, number of districts that have been declared open defecation free is at Annexure-1. Since the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) on 2nd October, 2014, 239.15 lakh toilets have been constructed under SBM(G) as on 30.09.2016. In addition to these, 15.30 lakh toilets have been constructed under MGNREGA since 2.10.2014. Government has set the target to make country open defecation free by 2nd October, 2019.
