Question raised in Lok Sabha on Review of SBM-G, 24/11/2016. Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation regularly reviews the progress made under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin). Sanitation Coverage, which was 42.05% on 2.10.2014, has increased to 57.15% on 21.11.2016. Total1,19,745 Villages have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF) as on 21-11-2016.Coverage in Karnataka was 41.35% as on 2.10.2014, which has been increased to 61.10% as on 21.11.2016.Detail of States/UTs including Karnataka is at Annexure-1.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Power Generation, 24/11/2016. The state wise installed capacity and actual quantum of power generated from various sources in the country during the year 2015-16 is given at Annex-I. Question raised in Rajya Sabha on Identification of 500 Cities under AMRUT, 24/11/2016. 500 cities have been selected for coverage under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT). Question raised in Lok Sabha on Conservation of Water, 24/11/2016. Under the scheme of RRR of water bodies Comprehensive improvement and restoration of water bodies, is undertaken for increasing tank storage capacity, Ground Water Recharge, Increased availability of drinking water, Improvement in agriculture/horticulture productivity, etc. State-wise details, on number of water bodies included during XII Plan, expenditure on the same during the last three years and number of water bodies revived till 03/2016 are given in Annexure-I.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Community Drinking Water Purification Plants, 24/11/2016. With the recommendation of NITI Aayog, Government of India had provided funds to the tune of Rs 800 crore for installation of community drinking water purification plants in arsenic and fluoride affected habitations so that 8 to 10 litres per capita per day of safe water for drinking and cooking purposes is made available to the affected population as a short term measure.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Pending Projects, 22/11/2016. Pending projects involving environmental clearance and forest clearance are 722 and 146 respectively in number. The Ministry appraises and grants environmental clearance under Environment Impact Assessment Notification, 2006, amended from time to time which prescribes timelines for different stages.
