Pakistan Overview of Food Security and Nutrition for 2019

This report is the combined effort of four UN agencies (FAO, WFP, WHO, UNICEF) and the Government of Pakistan coming together to present the overall picture of where Pakistan stands in the efforts to eliminate hunger and malnutrition. It is the first time a country level report has been attempted for Pakistan backed by the methodology of the UN's global series of the State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World. The report found that, although the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) and food insecurity is slowly declining in Pakistan, there are a number of worrying trends that may prevent further improvements to its food security. In particular, there is low resilience to external shocks, such as economic slowdowns and natural disasters.
