Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of R. K. Singh Vs Union of India & Others dated 02/09/2019 regarding non-implementation of Environmental Impact Assessment Notification, 2006 in the State of Jharkhand in respect of building constructions. It is stated that the State of Jharkhand has undertaken various major constructions of buildings particularly in the cities of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Deogarh without obtaining mandatory prior environmental clearance under the EIA Notification, 2006 even when it is mandatory in respect of structures having more than 20,000 Sq.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 30/08/2019 regarding the proposed construction of a Medical College Hospital in Jhargram, West Midnapur District, West Bengal in a forest land measuring about 20 hectares. The land is stated to be a “Protected Forest” published in the Calcutta Gazette dated 21.06.1956 vide Notification No. 1855 dated 17.02.1956.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gajubha Jesar Jadeja Vs Union of India & Others dated 27/08/2019 regarding lack of Environment Clearance (EC) by M/s. Chromeni Steel Pvt. Ltd., Kutch District, Gujarat.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sudhir Vs State of Chhattisgarh dated 20/08/2019 regarding pollution caused by M/s Metallic Alloys, Plot No. 29, Industrial Growth, Centra Siltara, Phase – III, Raipur, Chhattisgarh by using coke as a fuel which is in violation of conditions of Environmental Clearance.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Protection of Environment and Public Service Committee Vs M/s. Simar Port Pvt. Ltd. & Others dated 13/08/2019 regarding Environment Clearance (EC) and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Clearance granted by the MoEF&CC on 05.03.2019 to M/s. Simar Port Pvt. Ltd., Gujarat for construction of 2800m breakwater.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vatti Vasanth Kumar & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 13/08/2019 regarding Godavari-Krishana-Penna rivers linking project. 

The Godavari-Krishana-Penna river linking project does not have be requisite clearance from the Central Water Commission (CWC) and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). This application was taken up before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on August 13, 2019.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sanjeev S J, President, Environmental Protection and Research Council Vs State of Kerala dated 30/07/2019 regarding Environment Clearance (EC) for a construction project by M/s Draganstone Realty Pvt. Ltd. obtained by concealing facts about the actual built up area. Report from State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) said that EC was granted on June 2018, which has since expired and the new application is still pending.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Naresh Kumar Parmar Vs Union of India & Others dated 25/07/2019 regarding mining in Ambaji, Banas Kantha district, Gujarat. A Committee comprising of State Environment Impact Assessment Authority, Gujarat and the Gujarat Pollution Control Board inspected three mining sites in Ambaji and submitted a report. No mining activity was found due to self-closure by the mining companies due to lack of Environmental Clearance (EC).
