This appeal was filed on 10.04.2014 and has been pending for the last about five years. Question for consideration is whether grant of EC to the expansion of the project by treating it as ‘amendment’ is in violation of EIA Notification, 2006.

NGT in an order had directed that no stone crushers be permitted to operate unless they obtain consent from the State Pollution Control Board, proper no objection certificate from the concerned authorities and have the Environmental Clearance (EC) from the competent authority.
