The applicant, Ram Milan Sahani complained that on an average 500 tonnes of garbage is being dumped on embankment of river Rapti at "nausad Akla Baudha/Kalani" which is reaching main river flow causing serious pollution to river and also creating health hazards to residents of Gorakhpur.

A combined report filed on behalf of the Municipal Corporation and the District Magistrate, Gorakhpur filed on January 28, 2024 was found to be extremely dissatisfactory.

The matter related to encroachments in the area of pond covering a total area of 11.1350 hectares situated at Kasba Farid Nagar, tehsil Modi Nagar, Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh. Encroachments have been caused by raising constructions of houses, animal sheds and other structures for residential and commercial purposes.

The matter related to concretization of open spaces, on the pretext of parking area requirements, and road-sides, in the name of pedestrian path, right upto the neck of the existing trees and non-implementation of any plantation program for developing green belts in open spaces and along the road-sides in SAS Nagar.

(Civil) No. 653/1994 in which SC vide order, November 17, 2004 has directed that no blasting operations are allowed within 10 km of the area.

Order of the National Green Tribunal  in the matter of Lalit Gulati Vs Union of India dated 23/01/2024.

The matter related to dumping of garbage by the roadside in Udyog Vihar, Gurugram, Haryana which was leading to multiple problems, including the health hazard and was causing damage to the environment. The joint committee report, August 28, 2023 stated that during the site inspection heaps of solid waste and other waste were found dumped along the road in the open area.
