Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Saidas R. Khorjuvekar Vs Directorate of Mines & Geology dated 26/02/2019 regarding illegal mining in the river Chapora situated in the north District of Goa. The case was instituted in the year 2015 and during the course of proceedings various directions have been issued. The records reveal that the State of Goa has been taking various steps, including constitution of a District Committee for North Goa to deal with the grant of permits for manual extraction of sand and its monitoring.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Siyaram Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 21/02/2019 regarding illegal brick kilns in District Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh and also for illegal mining of sand and soil in the adjoining areas for collecting sand as raw material for the brick kilns. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and the District Magistrate, Gonda submitted a report which found illegal mining.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Prahalad Ram & Others Vs State of Rajasthan & Others dated 21/02/2019 regarding illegal mining of earth and gravel in District Nagaur, Rajasthan.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Amarshakti Vs State of Bihar & Others dated 14/02/2019 regarding illegal sand mining in rivers Sone and Ganga at Koelnar and Patna in Bihar. The illegal mining was resulting in affecting the flow of the rivers.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sandeep Kharb Vs Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change & Others dated 14/02/2019 regarding illegal sand mining inside the river bed of river Yamuna as well as construction of a temporary bridge with hume pipes, bricks (Malba), Murram etc.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ranjit Kumar Dora Vs District Collector Jajpur & Others dated 28/01/2019 regarding illegal sand mining in the Brahmani river in Dharmasala Tehsil, Jajpur District, Odisha. It is contended that there is rampant use of excavators while permission has been granted only for manual mining. There is excess mining and mining beyond the designated area. Depth of the sand mining has exceeded the permissible limits of 3 mtr resulting in the ground water level in the villages in the vicinity of the river.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Birendra Kumar Pegwal Vs State of Uttarakhand dated 24/01/2019 regarding illegal mining along Song River, Suswa River and Jakhan River at Doiwala, District Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The report submitted by a Joint Committee of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) and the District Collector, Dehradun shows that mining is being carried out through two Government agencies i.e. Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation (UFDC) and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam Limited (GMVN). However, the said two agencies have further hired contractors.
