The report submitted by the West Bengal State Pollution Control Board (WBSPCB) corraborates the fact that sand mining was taking place in which four boats with suction facility were being used.

Khorjuvekar Vs Directorate of Mines & Geology dated 26/02/2019 regarding illegal mining in the river Chapora situated in the north District of Goa. The case was instituted in the year 2015 and during the course of proceedings various directions have been issued. The records reveal that the State of Goa has been taking various steps, including constitution of a District Committee for North Goa to deal with the grant of permits for manual extraction of sand and its monitoring.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Siyaram Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 21/02/2019 regarding illegal brick kilns in District Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh and also for illegal mining of sand and soil in the adjoining areas for collecting sand as raw material for the brick kilns. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and the District Magistrate, Gonda submitted a report which found illegal mining.
