It is stated that the Tahasildar,Jaleswar executed a lease deed in favour of the miner on April 13, 2021.Environmental Clearance was also granted by the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) Odisha, on July 13, 2017.

The grievance in the application is against illegal mining, taking place in periphery of Keoladeo National Park in Rajasthan near Dholpur, close to National Chambal Sanctuary (NCS) which is a habitat of rare species of animals particularly Gharial, roofed turtles and also river dolphins.

Illegal mining remains a significant concern in Chhattisgarh, as highlighted in the Comptroller and Auditor General of India's (CAG) Audit Report on mining of minor minerals tabled in the state legislative assembly on July 21, 2023.
