The matter relates to the notification issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) March 28, 2020 (S.O.1224 E) that exempted certain activities from obtaining prior environmental clearance (EC).

Report of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) dated September 14, 2020. The matter deals with a temporary bridge constructed by M/s DSP Associates, Sonipat for the purpose of mining activities in violation of conditions of environment clearance.

Affidavit by Ajay Pandey (applicant) by way of additional evidence to prove the illegal sand mining in the Panchnand area and river Yamuna with its tributaries in the districts Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun and Kanpur Dehat of Uttar Pradesh and Bhind of Madhya Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of SAHAS (Mahila Sikshan Evam Samajik Vikas Sanstha) Vs State of Madhya Pradesh & Others dated 26/08/2020. The issue raised in this application was illegal mining and direction to the Madhya Pradesh State Mining Corporation to ensure Scientific Replenishment Study as prescribed in Sand guidelines (EMGSM-2020) issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) before allowing sand mining and to take necessary action on the Principle of Polluter Pays.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Readiness for Empowerment through Legitimate Action (RELA) & Others Vs State of Andhra Pradesh & Others dated 24/08/2020. The issue for consideration was whether what was termed as ‘dredging’in Godavari -Krishna river beds and its tributaries in the State of Telangana by the state authorities was illegal mining, as alleged by the applicant.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs Virender Singh (State of Gujarat).

The issue for consideration related to updation of enforcement and monitoring mechanism to control and regulate illegal sand mining and compensation.

Report of the Oversight Committee in compliance of National Green Tribunal order passed in O.A. No. 360/2015.

The matter related to illegal sand mining in the state of Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The Committee recommended that district survey reports (DSRs) need to be prepared very carefully. They should be based on physical surveys and replenishment studies. Since sand deposition was a dynamic issue, they need to be regularly updated.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vijay Kumar Dwedi Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 05/08/2020. A report was sought from the Divisional Forest Officer, Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, with reference to the allegation of illegal sand mining in forest land in Village Hamirpur, adversely affecting the environment.
