LUCKNOW: Even as widespread rains ended the dry spell over UP on Saturday, monsoon continued to elude Lucknow. While many places in eastern parts recorded rains, skies remain overcast in the city, but barring a brief shower in the wee hours, the clouds did not precipitate into rains.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: A flood alert has been sounded in ten districts of western Uttar Pradesh with swelling of Yamuna while water level in Ganga was also rising at many places.

Deputy secretary of the revenue department Raj Raten said that the flood alert has been issued in Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Baghpat, Meerut, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Hathras and Mathura districts.

LUCKNOW: The UP Bhumi Sudhar Nigam will start a pilot project on Ravine Reclamation. A part of UP Sodic Land Reclamation III project, this concept has been designed with the assistance of World Bank.
