LUCKNOW: Throwing garbage in public places may land you in trouble, if the department of urban development has its way. The department is mulling the proposal to put in place a provision in the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Act, 1959, whereby littering in public places would be deemed to be a penal offence inviting fine.

LUCKNOW: The once ailing Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary has seen a turnaround for sure. Thanks to the abundant water at the place, birds are still flocking to the wetland. While the flocks were retreating by February last year, this time they show no signs of it.

LUCKNOW: Commuters might have to face a major transport crisis on Wednesday. Some 6,000 tempos and autos, which connect the various routes of Lucknow, will remain off-road in protest against the short and erratic supply of CNG. The tempo-taxi association is in no mood to relent this time.
