The high-power committee (HPC) formed by the government to probe into the styrene vapour leak from LG Polymers in Visakhapatnam, in its report, has stated that human negligence and serious lapses in safety and security had led to the accident.

The Cabinet has given the green signal to introduce Andhra Pradesh State Aquaculture Development Authority Act -2020 bill in the assembly. This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh State Aquaculture Development Authority Act, 2020. It extends to the whole of the State of Andhra Pradesh.

A Bill further to amend the Andhra Pradesh Value Added Tax Act, 2005. The proposed Andhra Pradesh Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2020 seeks to revise the tax rates on petrol and diesel. The revision will result in a revenue gain of Rs 566 cr per annum approximately.

A Bill further to amend the Municipal Corporations Act, 1955 and the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act, 1965. This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Laws (Amendment) Act, 2020. It shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the 2nd March, 2020.

On April 10, 2020, the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2020 was promulgated to amend the 1994 Act with respect to the appointment, qualifications, tenure and conditions of service of the State Election Commissioner in the State Election Commission.
