KOLKATA, 14 SEPT: Accepting the revised estimate for acquisition of land for the upgrade of the International Check Post (ICP) at the Petrapole border, the Centre has released Rs 7 crore sought by the state government to avoid any trouble during acquisition of plots.
KOLKATA, 19 AUG: While six out of 25 deer died when they were being relocated to Dobanki camp in the Sunderbans from Parmadan Deer Park in North 24-Parganas, three more were killed following a fight among themselves at the Parmadan Park today.
The deer were being taken from Parmadan to Dobanki to get them acclimatised with forest conditions, before releasing them in the Sunderbans.

drought-affected if there is a rainfall deficit till 15 August which is the
