Under his Vanvasi Samman Yatra Phase IV today, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached Mandai Village in Birsa Development Block, 125 kms away from the Balaghat district headquarters. At a public meeting organised here Chouhan said that 30 per cent of the royalties received from the mineral resources would be spent for local development.

Bhopal: The state government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore four lakh for financial assistance to the calamity victims of Mandla, Vidisha, Dhar, Balaghat, Khargone, Anuppur and Ujjain districts. This amount has been allocated to the concerning district collectors for clearing the pending bills of assistance to victims of snakebite, hailstorm, fire and other needy persons.

Minister for Panchayats and Rural Development and Social Justice Gopal Bhargava said that Rs 625 crore has been allocated to 26 districts of the State for providing employment. He said that so far, savings accounts of over 66 lakh job card holders have been opened in banks and post offices.

The State Government have allotted a sum of Rs one crore 56 lakh for hail-storm affected persons of Seoni, Dindori, Balaghat, Umariya and Chhindwada districts. Concerning Collectors have been asked to utilise the allotted fund under the norms of RBC 6-4.

Girls in / Madhya Pradesh have a valid reason to smile - and so does the government

Ladli Laxmi Yojana, the brainchild of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, launched for the empowerment of girl child in Madhya Pradesh, has after Delhi now been emulated by Uttar Pradesh.

The state government had launched Ladli Laxmi Yojana with a view to creating positive thinking about girls among the masses, improvement in gender ratio and improving standard education of health of girls apart from laying a solid foundation for their future. The novel scheme has yielded very good results within a short span of one year.

The farmers of the State are not availing full benefits of their hard work. There remains a big difference between the prices of foodgrains produced by them and the being sold in the markets. Middle men are enjoying the farmers' hard labour. According to a report, sharbati wheat was sold Rs 2200-2500 a quintal in Ratlam but did the farmers reap the profits of this sale. It is also a matter of consideration that if quality crops are produced then the farmers would benefit. Earlier, sharbati wheat was produced in the Bhopal division and adjoining places.
