BHUBANESWAR: The Swarnajayanti Gram Sworajgar Yojana (SGSY), the massive self-employment programme of the Government, will now be implemented in a mission mode under a restructured scheme called National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM).

BHUBANESWAR: After diarrhoea, malaria is spreading in Western Orissa districts putting the efficacy of the health services to test.

As diarrhoea has a long history in the State and takes heavy toll in the backward districts at regular intervals, malaria has emerged as the highest killer in the tribal- dominated areas.

BHAWANIPATNA: Tribals are more prone to infectious diseases due to malnutrition. An Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) bulletin said this in October 2003. In 2009 too this holds good in some of the tribal pockets of Kalahandi which are witnessing gastroenteritis and malaria in epidemic proportions.

The two patients have been discharged from SCB Medical College Hospital and asked to come for further check-up after a week, they said.
