The World is standing at a crossroad where if we do not put a lid on the emission of greenhouse gases, in a few decades, we shall be heading towards an environmental disaster. The International Conference in Paris that is going to begin on 30th december aims at preventing the destruction caused due to natural calamities all over the world.

Ahead of the Paris climate summit, India has pledged to cut carbon emissions but said that even though coal is polluting, it will continue to dominate its power needs. The answer, says the government, lies in clean-coal power plants also called supercritical power plants.
