The matter is related to pollution of Kestopur-Bagjola Khal/ Bagjola Canal. According to the applicant solid wastes of huge quantity are thrown in the canal and discharges of filthy water from innumerable pipelines/open drains are continuing there. No action appears to have been taken by the authorities with regard to the cleaning of the Kestopur-Bagjola Canal.

A three member committee was directed by the NGT to look into the matter of violation of environmental rules and cutting the green trees in the premises of Government Senior Secondary School, Doomroli, block Neemrana, district Kotputli, Behror, Rajasthan. Various trees were uprooted, damaged and cut down without any permission/authority from the competent department/forest department.

The issue involved in Original Application is in respect of unauthorized constructions over the flood plain zone of Yamuna and Hindon river in village Lakhnawali, Greater Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar Uttar Pradesh.

The NGT, July 27, 2023 had directed the District Magistrate, Greater Noida/Gautam Budha Nagar to ensure identification and demarcation of flood plain zone of river Yamuna and Hindon and submit a report within two months.

The NGT had directed the industry to fly reply mentioning in detail the green belt maintained by it, particulars of the land where the plantation of 5,000 trees was carried out, the activities which were carried out under CSR/CER schemes among others. The industry had participated in the Vrahad Vraksha Ropan Maha Abhiyan 2023 and planted 5000 treees of various varieties. Out of the 5000 new plants planted, around 1500 could not survive and at present there are around 3500 trees in the factory premises.
