After its attempt to encourage cyclists by marking cycle lanes in Jayanagar failed, the Department of Urban Land Transport is now preparing to chalk out segregated cycle tracks in HSR Layout, Yelah

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has proposed a plan to construct an 8-km dedicated cycle track in the city.

The bicycle tracks in Jayanagar, inaugurated in 2012, have been taken over by motorists to park their vehicles and nothing is being done to fix the problem.

Pedestrians and cyclists have emerged as the most vulnerable group on Delhi roads with the two of them accounting for the largest share of road injuries and deaths.

City ranks fourth in country in number of accidents, according to findings by Centre for Environment and Science.
