Another seven people lost their lives due to dengue fever during the last 24 hours, of which, six died in Lahore and one in Gujranwala.

City Has Reported 375 Cases Since January

Dengue claimed eight more lives on Monday in Lahore, taking the death toll to 223 in the city.

Cases of dengue, even deaths have been reported in the state, while health officials say that things are under control.

During the past 18 days, Chandigarh has witnessed an upsurge in the number of dengue cases reported from different hospitals, both within the city as well as the region.

Another nine people lost their lives during the last 24 hours on account of dengue fever, Secretary Health Punjab Muhammad Jehanzeb Khan, said.

Vector-borne diseases impose enormous health and economic burdens and additional methods to control vector populations are clearly needed. The Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) has been successful against agricultural pests, but is not in large-scale use for suppressing or eliminating mosquito populations.

New Delhi: With 10 more people testing positive for dengue, the total number of cases rose to 293 in the city even as the MCD has launched a special awareness drive targeting schools.

The total number of people affected by dengue in the city has risen to 283, with 72 people testing positive for the mosquito-borne disease in the past one week here.

Another four patients died of dengue virus in the provincial capital on Sunday.
