July 7: In a joint operation between Haryana police and the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, about 20 kg of suspected tiger bones have been seized in Suratnagar village near Pataudi in Haryana. Sources in the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau said the chances of these bones being of tigers is 99 per cent and they are fresh, which were preserved in salt. Officials also seized iron traps which are used to catch tigers by the poachers.

The day Sariska's first translocated tigress is slated to walk free, came further evidence of continuing pressure on the tiger from poachers: about 15-20 kg of fresh tiger bones were recovered today from the house of a known poacher in a village near Gurgaon, official sources said.

Gurgaon: A day after farmers protesting against a proposed SEZ in Harsaru burnt two JCBs and blocked traffic on the Gurgaon-Pataudi Road, some youths damaged the official vehicle of an ACP and set it afire when the ACP was heading towards Gurgaon on Wednesday morning. Soon after, police conducted a flag march in the troubled area.

The second metro tunnel at Hauz Khas was completed today at 11.30 a.m. The Delhi Metro has completed this project three weeks ahead of schedule. This construction of the tunnel had begun in February this year. The 1,453 metre long tunnel was completed just in four months. This tunnel is parallel to the first tunnel from Malviya Nagar to Hauz Khas, which was completed on May 31. The two tunnels will permit movement of Metro trains that will run on the Central Secretariat-Gurgaon section of Phase-II. The section would be opened to the public in 2010.

Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has recently reaffirmed the authorised status of IGL to serve not only the city of Delhi but also its suburbs in NCR. Going ahead with its expansion plan to meet the public demand, the IGL will cover the areas namely Noida, Gurgaon and Faridabad.
