New Delhi: The Union Urban Development Ministry on Monday announced a scheme under the second phase of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) as an incentive to cities and states across the country to implement modern bus systems, in particular the Bus Rapid Transit System.

Guidelines announced by the Ministry of Urban Development on funding of buses for urban transport under JNNURM. Under this, one-time assistance will be provided to all mission cities for the purchase of buses for urban transport systems till June 30.
