LAND acquisition protests in Uttar Pradesh refused to die down even though the government claimed to have resolved the issue during the wee hours of Tuesday. The protests over the Yamuna Expressway, being built by the JP group, which started on Saturday and has since claimed four lives in Aligarh and Mathura moved to Agra on Tuesday.

New Delhi: Parliament on Monday came to a standstill over the firing on protesting Aligarh farmers when anti-BSP outfits joined hands to corner the Mayawati regime over land acquisition for Yamuna Expressway.

Jikarpur (UP): A smooth twohour drive in future for Delhiites to Agra via the under-construction Yamuna Expressway, has become a battle for livelihood for 10,000-odd farmers of six villages in Aligarh.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) got the Supreme Court nod on Tuesday to issue tenders for 35 vantage toll plazas across the country, almost a month after the process was stayed by the Allahabad High Court.

With a view to provide land and other facilities for industrialization in the state the Gwalior district administration has earmarked 11,807 acres of land for Industrial Corridor. District Collector Shri Akash Tripathi informed that this land has been earmarked on both sides in a radius of five km of the North-South National Highway (NH 75).
