WHILE more than 600 families living behind a petrol filling station at Fourth f Block in Mogappair West f complained that gasoline (from the fuel outlet) had seeped into their wells and rendered water unfit for cont sumption, officials of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) strongly denied the allegation, saying leakage from t the storage tank was not possible.
DIBRUGARH, April 30: Tinsukia District Administration in collaboration with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has adopted Panbari village, a hamlet near the oil vally of Digboi in Tinsukia district for its all round development.
There was tension between farmers and officials near Ranauli Latifpur village in Dadri as farmers were trying to stall the laying of Indian Oil pipeline in the village. Villagers alleged that the police had been deployed in the area to quell their protests.
Farmers are demanding land compensation on the pattern of Greater Noida area.
RANIGANJ, 3 FEB: The continued illegal coal mining in Raniganj has posed a threat to the Haldia-Barauni underground oil pipeline passing through the area. Experts apprehend that an explosion is imminent and fearing this, police sought immediate intervention of the Eastern Coalfields Limited.
BHUBANESWAR: An oil leak was Tuesday spotted at a crucial pipeline of the state-run Indian Oil Corp in Orissa's Bhadrak district, raising concerns over its environmental impact and loss of supplies.
The leak was detected early morning by residents near Jafrabad village, some 170 km from state capital Bhubaneswar, said District Collector K.C. Patra.
