According to the Delhi Government, the economy of the national Capital is booming with the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimated to grow at 12.76 per cent in 2016-17. It claimed that the advance estimate of Delhi at current prices during 2016-17 is likely to attain level of Rs 6,22,385 crore. However, in terms of constant prices, which does not take inflation into account, the economy growth rate saw a decline from 8.82 per cent in 2015-16 to 8.26 per cent in 2016-17 as per advance estimates

Unfortunately, public resources like the river water are sold at throwaway prices to corporations, who in turn resell the water either in the form of packaged drinking water or as aerated beverages. NGT in the Order said that since in the case of new brick kilns a mandatory condition for establishing multi-layered green belt is imposed, it would also be applicable to the brick kilns existed prior to or after the year 2000.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Suresh Kumar Pukhrajji Dhoka & Others Vs M/s. T.N. Pandya & Others dated 02/03/2017 regarding extraction of groundwater from borewells by business units in Jagannath Shankar Sheth Road, Mumbai. According to the Applicant, water is extracted from the borewells for the purposes of trade without having any NOC or valid permission Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
