Order of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai) dated 25/01/2017 in the matter of Telangana State Pollution Control Board Paryavaran Bhavan VS Md Shahbaz Ullah Ranga Reddy District regarding industries situated in Kotwalguda Village and Jalpally Village, Ranga Reddy District. The Telangana State Pollution Control Board had directed closure of the units citing the reason that they are situated within 10 km radius of Himayathsagar and Osmansagar lakes and that they are operating without “consent to operate” from the Board.

Ltd Vs Uttrakhand Environment Protection Pollution Control Board & Others dated 18/01/2017 regarding SPCB classifying the industry as "grossly polluting industry". NGT in its Judgement after going through the case concluded that the appelant industry falls under the category of grossly polluting industry and it does not come under the category of green industry. And also directs the industry to comply with the directions given the SPCB for installation of online monitoring system.

The joint inspection report dated 11th January, 2017 filed before NGT states that the unit does not have authorization for dealing with the hazardous waste, under the relevant rule. It was also found that the effluent discharged by the unit violated the prescribed parameters of Chromium.
