Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Justice K. S. Puttaswamy & Others Vs Union of India & Others regarding the validity of Aadhaar Act 2016, 26/09/2018. The Judgement of the Supreme Court says that "the requirement under Aadhaar Act to give one's demographic and biometric information does not violate fundamental right of privacy." The Apex Court further said that the collection of data, its storage and use does not violate fundamental Right of Privacy. 

The Personal Data Protection Bill, 2018 is more fully understood in the context of three key developments: the political and legal challenges to Aadhaar, Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation, and the “tech-lash” against the dominance of some of the largest United States-based tech companies at the expense of the domestic industry. The SC was informed that the Ministry of Labour and Employment is involved in the process of finalizing a registration module for unorganized workers and after the security audit it would be made ready by the end of December, 2018. Some of the directions issued by the Supreme Court are the following:

(i) The Union of India and the Department of Health and other concerned Departments shall carry out awareness campaigns at various levels so that people come to know about the curability of the disease and of its not being contagious.

The Paris Agreement of COP21 set a goal of holding global average temperature increases to below 2 °C above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase to 1.5 °C. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is propagated by irrational use of antibiotics by healthcare practitioners and the uninformed public. This study assessed a select cohort of 504 urban Indians for their knowledge, awareness and practice of antibiotic use and AMR. Forty seven per cent were unaware of the differences between over-the-counter drugs and antibiotics. One in four believes that dose-skipping does not contribute to AMR. One in ten tends to selfmedicate. One in five bought medicines without prescription or started an antibiotic course by calling a doctor.
