Night soil of over 60 thousand latrines is disposed into open drains without any sewage treatment in Jammu and Kashmir, according to figures released by state's Directorate of Census Operation.

Minister of State for Power, Shabir Ahmad Khan today said that the work on 37.5 MW Parnai Hydro Electric Project on Suran river is expected to start during the current year after completion of bidding process by May, 2012.
