NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought status reports from the Central Ground Water Authority, the Delhi Development Authority and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on alleged illegal construction on the Ridge in Vasant Kunj, Vasant Vihar and Delhi Cantonment by the DDA and private construction companies.
The Delhi Cabinet has given nod to a proposal for making Delhi smoke free by 2009 through a project in collaboration with Bloomberg Global Initiative (BGI). The project will be implemented in two years with effect from October 2008 to September 2010 with an estimated cost of Rs 10 crores.
