The U.S. Congress asked the National Academy of Sciences to conduct a technical study on lessons learned from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident for improving safety and security of commercial nuclear power plants in the United States.

Physiological constraints to climate warming in fish follow principles of plastic floors and concrete ceilings

Understanding the resilience of aquatic ectothermic animals to climate warming has been hindered by the absence of experimental systems experiencing warming across relevant timescales (for example, decades). Here, we examine European perch (Perca fluviatilis, L.) from the Biotest enclosure, a unique coastal ecosystem that maintains natural thermal fluctuations but has been warmed by 5–10 C by a nuclear power plant for over three decades.

The list of the new power projects in conventional sources commissioned during 2012-16 is enclosed as Annex-I. The list of the generation capacity addition target planned for 2016-17 which includes projects in the State of Bihar is enclosed as Annex-II.
