The Bombay High Court on Tuesday allowed environment NGO Greenpeace to hold silent and peaceful demonstration near the venue of Tata Steel's Annual General Meeting in the city on August 28.

AHMEDABAD: In a major relief to the Adani group, the Supreme Court on Wednesday vacated the stay order that stalled work at its Rs 7,400-crore multi-product special economic zone at Mundra. A bench headed by chief justice KG Balakrishnan, while dismissing the petition of fishermen as withdrawn, asked the Adani group not to fill the creeks.

In an apparent departure from its stance of being environment-friendly, the Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to pass any order on a petition filed by a few Gujarat fishermen challenging the Special Economic Zone at Mundra. In what comes as a breather for the Adani group, the apex court asked the petitioners to approach the respective High Court for directions, if any.
