RAMPURHAT, Feb. 1: The Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme (PPIP) has come to a halt in the villages of Ambha and Kushmore, in Birbhum's Rampurhat II and Muraroi II block areas respectively. The villagers have boycotted the programme in order to prompt developments ~ Ambha is demanding immediate electrification, while Kushmore is pushing for the construction of roads.

A REVIEW of 800 infrastructure projects by the government has revealed that no project is facing any funding problem, but almost 200 of them have hit roadblocks due to implementation issues such as land acquisition and clearances, a top government official said.
