In compliance to the order of the Tribunal, the DDA has filed the Status report in relation to the water bodies under their jurisdiction. The Tribunal has directed the Counsel appearing for the NCT Delhi to file the Status report in relation to the remaining water bodies.

State of Madhya Pradesh & Ors dated 16/10/2015 regarding encroachment of a park in the Sonagari Utkarsh HIG Sector-A, Sonagiri, BHEL, Bhopal by constructing a temple on the same thereby destroying the trees and vegetation which the residents of the colony have developed.

Kamre Alam Vs Government of West Bengal & Ors. dated 01/10/2015 regarding the installation of a mobile tower by VIOM Network Limited in a thickly populated residential locality of Kashipur Mouza, Purba Medinipore, West Bengal.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Biranchi Narayan Mahapatra Vs State of Odisha & Others dated 08/09/2015 regarding unauthorised structures being developed in Berhampur Municipal area by encroaching natural ponds sanctioned by Berhampur Municipality in violation of the environmental laws.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dwaipayan Sengupta Vs Union of India & Ors. dated 01/09/2015 regarding Nayanjuli canal and its restoration.

The Tribunal directed the Principal Secretary, PWD, Govt. of West Bengal to formulate a scheme in consultation with his engineers for free flow of water by removing the obstruction in three points viz. Golaghata, Lake Town and Bangur. NGT also directed a scheme to be framed for free passage of flow of water without obstruction by way of construction of bridge or installation of hume pipes in those three points.

“Under the law you have the authority. You take action,” said the court, while directing the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Delhi Police to “cooperate” in removing encroachments.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Paschim Banga Vigyan Manch & Others Vs Union of India & Others dated 21/07/2015 regarding encroachment of Nayanjuli starting from Ultadanga to Lake Town crossing of VIP road, Kolkata.

It is further contended in the application that at the present moment many have illegally started or going to start new construction thereon. Due to such encroachment, the capacity of the canal has reduced to hold the excess rain water as well as recharging of ground water has been affected.
