Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 24/08/2018 regarding unauthorized constructions in Burari, Delhi. The report submitted by the Monitoring Committee has noted that even though the land is agricultural land but several multi-storeyed buildings have come up in the area. There is hardly any vacant land in that area and there is no agricultural land in the area. The Monitoring Committee has already noted that even water bodies have been encroached upon and a large number of trees have been cut down.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 15/05/2018. Attorney General has placed before the Apex Court the Action Plan for monitoring of all construction activities in Delhi and fixing of responsibility in case of violations of Master Plan, unified building Bye-laws and other illegal construction activities.

Central Ground Water Board has filed a report on the status of ground water which shows that in areas categorized as over exploited (as per Ground Water Resources Estimation of 2013) from May 200 to May 2017 water level declined rate varied from 0.5 m/year to more than 2 m/year at places.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 08/05/2018 regarding sealing drive in Delhi against unauthorised constructions. Report No. 118 of the Monitoring Committee was placed before the Court and it deals with alleged unauthorised constructions in Khan Market as well as in Sanjay Market. It has also been pointed out that the seals of the premises sealed on 2nd August, 2007 in Sanjay Market have since been tampered with and huge multi storeyed buildings have come up on all the sealed premises.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of M. C. Mehta Vs Union of India & Others dated 24/04/2018 regarding Delhi sealing drive. Officiating Chairman of the Central Ground Water Board K.C. Naik has been requested to inform the Court the status of ground water level in 20 points in Delhi from the year 2000 onwards every five years including for the year 2017/2018 to understand whether there has been a depletion of ground water and in which area and to what extent.
