THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Political short-sightedness could lose several city areas the fruits of the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA)-assisted water supply scheme.

Citizens staged a dharna in front of the Town Municipal Council, urging for the authorities concerned to solve the drinking water problem prevailing in Malur town, in Malur on Wednesday.

The residents of Hanumanthnagar, Maruthi Layout, Mutton Market, A D Colony and Bhovi Colony took part in the protest. They urged the TMC authorities to provide proper drinking water to their areas.
