Chandigarh More than a year after the solid waste management plant was inaugurated at Dadumajra, the condition of garbage at the site remains as dismal as ever. The Rs 30 crore invested in the plant seems to have been virtually dumped.

The compact fluorescent lamp (CFL), considered as energy saving light is posing as the biggest threat to the Garden City as heaps of broken and discarded lamps are ending up in lake beds, posing danger to the groundwater.
