Oct. 18: Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Saturday said the Pakistan government will never compromise on its share of water from India under the Indus Water Treaty.

"We are' aware of the problem and Pakistan will not compromise on the water issue," Mr Qureshi said while addressing a press conference here.

New Delhi: Even as the case relating to the Mullaperiyar dam has been posted for hearing on November 17, a three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court on Wednesday requested Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan to constitute a new Bench to take it up.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan says India has blocked the Chenab waters from flowing across to its side, endangering its kharif crop as a result.

Water and Power Secretary Ismail Qureshi told Geo television that the matter had already been taken up with New Delhi through the Indian High Commission, and the government was expecting a response in a couple of days.

It has been a hot, dry summer in the Middle East, and as water levels have plunged, political tensions have risen.
