The newly elected BJP-NDA Government today made it clear that the much-touted river linking project will not be carried out without the concurrence of the riparian states or beneficiary states.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Ashok Mittal & Others Vs. NCT of Delhi & Others dated 17/07/2014 on the issue of natural drains in Delhi and its present status. The Tribunal has directed the Expert Committee to consider two major alternatives for ensuring pollution control and protection of river Yamuna there from, and restoration to its original natural status of being a river and not a drain.
