The National Green Tribunal directed the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to verify whether adequate steps have been taken to stop the flow of sewage and other wastes flowing into the storm water drain of  Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam. Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam informed the Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development, Lucknow that there is now connectivity of wash waters and waste from dairies at three vulnerable points. 158 houses which were unconnected to the sewerage system has now been connected and hence no sewage is now being discharged into the drain.

It is said that sewer chambers are located at Triveni Ghat of river Ganga at Rishikesh which sometimes due to overflow results in spreading pollutants across the area polluting Ganga. Such pollutants also cause foul smell and create unhygienic conditions thereby causing health hazards to local people.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Adesh Kumar Yadav Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 11/01/2023.

The matter relates to raising of illegal construction at Gata No. 345/1, area 345 sq. mtr, which is a part of flood plain of river Ramganga by M/s Torrent Gas Pvt. Ltd. Any construction on the flood plain zone of the river which is tributary of river Ganga is prohibited, the complainant, Adesh Kumar Yadav pointed out in his application before the NGT.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Srikanta Kumar Pakal & Others Vs State of Odisha & Others dated 09/01/2023.

The matter related to discharge of waste water by M/s. Hotel Presidency, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The court noted that the test report of water samples of the hotel show high levels of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS) as well as faecal coliform. However, these "two test reports do not give the standards/regulatory limits".
