Lucknow:The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court hearing the National Rural Health Mission scam in the state on Tuesday posted the case for July 28.

LUCKNOW: The ministry of consumer affairs and public distribution has allocated of 5.28 lakh tonnes per month of wheat and rice to Uttar Pradesh for the fiscal year 2011-12.

LUCKNOW: A PIL has been filed in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court seeking quashing of land acquisition and plot allotment to dubious companies in Noida.

The PIL is likely to come up for hearing on July 14. The PIL has been filed by Nawab Singh Nagar, a former MLA of Dadri assembly constituency of Gautam Buddh Nagar through his counsel Anurag Kumar Singh.

LUCKNOW: The sarus census shows that barely five percent of sarus crane population is living in protected areas of the state, while the remaining 95% of the state bird is living outside these areas. Experts believe that it is this population, which needs protection and conservation.

LUCKNOW: The Centre has slammed the Mayawati government for laxity in lowering Value Added Tax (VAT) on petroleum products. The reaction followed the decision taken by the Central Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), who raised prices of diesel, kerosene and domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) recently, owing to rising international oil prices.

LUCKNOW: Reacting to the UPA government's charge that Uttar Pradesh has failed miserably in utilizing Central funds meant for development of drought-hit Bundelkhand, UP chief minister Mayawati on Saturday wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking him to waive off loans issued by nationalized banks to farmers in the region in view of the difficult situation they were facing.
