With work yet to begin on the 14 proposed Bus Rapid Transit corridors, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday said her government was planning to go slow on the BRT projects as the existing BRT — from Ambedkar Nagar to Moolchand — drew flak from all quarters. She said the internal roads of colonies, through which the BRTs are to pass, will be improved before implementation of the new projects.

Faced with an acute shortage of parking bays near the CGO complex on Lodhi Road, which has in its perimeter several office complexes, the Union Urban Development Ministry has proposed a multi-level parking with commercial spaces that can be let out.

The proposal, which will be put forth before the Union Cabinet for its approval, envisages letting out space to commercial establishments like restaurants and shops to raise funds for the construction.

‘The Delhi government is ramping up its efforts to generate solar energy.
