Yamunanagar, March 24: Taking advantage of the busy schedule of police and local administration, caused by the Lok Sabha elections, mining mafia has again become active in the district.

The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) has no immediate plan to start construction activities for its proposed nuclear power project at Gorakhpur in Fatehabad.

The CPM will raise the issue of the upcoming nuclear power project at Gorakhpur in the state during its campaign for the parliamentary elections.

Standing wheat, green fodder and vegetable crops were damaged when hailstorm hit several villages in the district late last evening.
