Govt doctor tests positive

A government doctor has tested positive for swine flu in Sirsa while ten new suspected cases of the disease have come to the fore in Hisar in the past two days and two suspected cases have been witnessed in Fatehabad. In Hisar, the health authorities collected throat swab samples of six patients yesterday and four patients today. “We have sent throat swab samples of 172 patients to the Central Institute for Communicable Diseases (CICS), Delhi, for testing so far this year. Of these, 62 were found to be positive - 34 from Hisar and 28 from other districts. As many as 11 people have died due to the H1N1 infection in the district.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced relief for agriculturists using tubewells in Bhiwani district.

Hooda was addressing representatives of the Bhartiya Kisan Union and farmers of the area who had called upon him at his residence here today. Hooda said the consumers having motors with capacity between 12.5 BHP and 15 BHP would be supplied electricity at the rate of 20 paisa per unit for metered supply and Rs 30 per BHP per month for unmetered supply as against the previous rate of 25 paisa per unit and Rs 35 per BHP per month, respectively.

With rain and hailstorms lashing several parts of the districts and damaging standing rabi crops, the district authorities have announced a special girdawari of the affected villages in the district. Over 50 villages of the district are reported to have been affected by the unseasonal downpour and hail assault.

The district authorities today claimed that a special survey had been ordered to send a detailed report on the losses to the state government. Representatives of the BKU have asked the state government to carry out such surveys in all districts, as unusual heavy rain and hailstorms had been reported during the past fortnight.

The Haryana Government has revised the norms, guidelines and parameters for grant of permission for Change of Land Use (CLU) for development of retail outlets and fuel filling stations other than CNG (compressed natural gas) or PNG (piped natural gas).

Stating this here on Tuesday, a spokesman of the Town & Country Planning Department added that while considering or examining CLU application for setting up retail outlets, fuel filling stations in controlled areas, land requirement and other parameters as per new guiding principles shall be followed.In case of independent petrol pumps along National Highways, the minimum area for independent fuel filling stations would be 35 metres by 35 metres on undivided carriageway. On divided carriageway, it would be 35 metres (frontage) by 45 metres.
