Committee report on environmental compensation for the stone crushers in Nemakallu village, Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh.

The Joint Committee constituted to look into the matter reviewed the information and other inputs received from the Health Department, Agricultural Department August 31, 2020 for damage assessment caused by stone crushers in Nemakallu village to the air quality, health issues and agricultural production loss in monetary terms, which has to be recovered from the stone crushers for operating without complying with the prescribed norms.

Observations made by a four member committee and task force on Polavaram Irrigation Project in compliance with the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order in O.A. No. 857 of 2018.

The Polavaram Irrigation Project (PIP) officials has said that the overall progress so far made in the project was 71.88%. As per the construction schedule, concrete in spillway including construction of bridge, concrete in spill channel and construction of coffer dams should have been completed by May 2019.

Grievance in this application was that M/s Siflon Drugs was emitting foul odour and causing air pollution at Bellary Road, Rachanapalli, district Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The polluting activity needed to be regulated in the interest of environment and public health.
