BALASORE: Panic gripped Kantabania village in Balasore district after 35 persons, including women and children, found suffering from an unknown fever.

Though no casualty has been reported yet but residents are scared a lot because more and more people are getting affected by the fever which broke out five days back.

BALASORE: Here's good news for betel farmers. Now they do not have to sell betel leaves at throwaway price as a research has claimed that aromatic oil can be produced from the betel leaves and sold at a price that is at least two times higher than the cost of betel leaves.

The coastal district of Balasore too has not been spared of the migration curse. If lack of job opportunities was the reason for the exodus in KBK region, floods and resultant poor agricultural activities are the reasons in this flood-prone district.

BALASORE: Panic gripped Pala Jamkunda panchayat in Baliapal block of Balasore district following outbreak of diarrhoea which has claimed one person and affected nearly two dozen people within past few days. The deceased has been identified as Raghunath Bag (22) who died while undergoing treatment at Baliapal hospital. At present, this health centre is flooded with diarrhoea patients.
