NEW DELHI: Unable to strictly enforce the ban on use of plastic in the Capital and weed it out of markets and shopping malls, the State Environment Department has warned that strict action will be taken against violators.

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that Jammu and Kashmir will soon be country's first state to have a fully dedicated bio-plastic product manufacturing facility.

The Ministry of Environment and Forests will consider providing subsidies to biodegradable plastic bag manufacturers in light of the ban on plastic bags in Delhi.
